EDV’s Hub Access Worker Remy is taking part in Run Melbourne in July 2026 to raise money for our free eating disorder programs and support services. Here she explains why running helps her reset and shift perspective.
My connection to Eating Disorders Victoria runs deep because I actually work here as part of the EDV Hub team.
Every day, I am on the frontline of our services, speaking directly with individuals, families, and clinicians navigating the complexities of eating disorders. I see firsthand the immense courage it takes to reach out for help, and I know exactly how vital our services are.
Outside of work, I am someone who thrives on connection and exploring the world around me. I love to get out and socialise, whether that’s spending quality time catching up with friends, planning my next trip or trying a new wine bar or restaurant.

EDV Hub Access Worker Remy is fundraising for free eating disorder care, and shares how running is a big part of her wellbeing toolkit.
Why am I fundraising for EDV?
Because of my role on the Hub, I feel incredibly connected to the work and values of EDV. I believe that everyone has a right to accessible and compassionate eating disorder care. The work EDV does isn’t just important, it’s life changing.
Navigating recovery or supporting a loved one can be an incredibly isolating experience, and the Hub is often the first beacon of hope people find.
By supporting my run, you aren’t just cheering me on toward a finish line. You are directly contributing to EDV’s mission to provide hope, support, and a pathway to recovery for thousands of Victorians.
Every dollar counts, and every bit of support helps keep our Hub and support services free and accessible.
Why running?
For me, running has allowed me to get out of my head and into my body. In a world that often demands we constantly think, analyse, and stress, running serves as one of the most grounding practices in my life.
After a long or stressful day, running allows me to truly disconnect from the noise and spend that allotted time just for me. It isn’t about hitting a time or pace, it’s about listening to my body, breathing in the fresh air, and being present in the moment.
Running encourages me to explore new places, slow down to appreciate nature, and see the environment around me from a different perspective.
Through this fundraiser, I want to spread the message that movement can be a gentle, grounding space where we celebrate what our bodies can do, rather than what they look like.
